Cate Ashmore

Cate Ashmore – Managing Director

  • Facilitator – Training & Assessment, Retail, Corporate Training
  • Accredited Indigenous Mentor
  • Careers Advisor

Cate started Dedicated Training & Consulting Group in 2005 after working as a facilitator for a number of years in the industry and deciding that the only way she could change the focus to being about successful outcomes for clients, was to start a business where “It’s All About You!”

Her passion involves working with businesses and individuals to reach their full potential, including the provision of outstanding customer service. She brings to her role, as both Director and a Facilitator, extensive experience in the Retail, Hospitality, Agriculture, Aviation and Tourism sectors in diverse areas including Management, Human Resources, Operations and Business Ownership.

Cate has worked in vocational training at all levels from corporate clients through to trainees, apprentices and the long-term unemployed, utilising her diverse skills in the personal and professional development of participants. One of her greatest passions is assisting and mentoring indigenous clients from remote communities by helping them to acquire life skills and on-the-job skills with the ultimate reward at the end resulting in them finding gainful employment. Over the last 18 months, Cate and her husband Jim, have been involved in two very successful mentoring programs for indigenous students from Groote Eylandt, where they gave up their house, their dogs and their comforts to live in a rented house with the students full time for 6 weeks. Due to the success of these programs and the retention rate of the students in paid employment, Cate has been approached to do more in the future and whilst they are a big challenge the personal reward for herself and husband Jim is incredible.

It is because of Cate’s passion, enthusiasm and bubbly, outgoing personality that she is well known around Cairns and has been the feature of articles in local publications such as In Touch In Business and The Cairns Post’s Weekender edition.
